The Scarf

The leaves are changing and the temperature is dropping – it’s time to take advantage of the beautiful outdoors before the snow starts to fall!

Restaurants are offering extended patio seating this autumn season and although there are heaters to keep us warm, no one likes feeling cold. As fortunate as we are to experience the four seasons here in the eastern part of our continent, this ultimate accessory is a must! The scarf is always on-trend and an all-season must-have. The only difference is the fabrics that vary from season to season. There is nothing worse than feeling a chill on your neck or realizing you need an extra layer when you’re enjoying that brisk walk.

The scarf is the “icing on the cake” per se to your ensemble and can make a statement in your overall look. The different options in sizes allow you to experiment while having some fun. Cashmere, chunky knits, merino wool – there are endless options out there for you to keep you warm and comfortable.

Scarves are a versatile accessory with many different ways of styling. Long scarves like the blanket scarf can be styled in a knot, twist, and infinity loops, while short scarves can be styled in sleek single double loops.

Some tips to keep in mind when you’re opting for a more casual look is to go with chunky knits, heavy textures, or bold patterns. For a more polished and elegant look, go for a solid tone or tone-on-tone to give a more sophisticated and chic statement. If you are going for an embellished fabric, this can be the perfect finishing touch to an outfit.  Pardon the pun, but let’s “wrap this up”, stay warm and cozy while looking fabulous.
