The Effortless Shacket

What is a shacket? A question I’ve been asked countless times, which is then followed by “ how do I wear this shacket?” Well, let’s start by looking at what the current reality of today’s fashion landscape is.

The first three words that come to mind when describing today’s fashion/style are:  comfort, ease, and versatility.  What has been brought to my attention even in these unprecedented times by both men and women, is the significance of looking and feeling good about their personal brand.  Dressing for your success (in all aspects of your life) coveys confidence – subsequently resulting in success.  We may be viewing our wardrobe differently, but one thing remains consistent and that is looking for ways to make our lives simpler.

Consider the shacket your new staple, one that can work with countless looks and is the perfect piece to layer your outfits – which is a challenge in itself. This time of year we want to feel cozy while remaining comfortable and not too hot. The temperatures are still inconsistent, from a mild autumn day to feeling like early spring and then plummeting to what feels like the end of November.

This piece is really one that will be here to stay because of its versatility and range of fabulous fabrics. From fleece, chunky knits, cashmere, cotton blends or corduroy – it’s the ultimate finishing touch to any outfit.

Oh and let me not forget to answer those in question of the definition of a shacket – it looks like a shirt and layers like a jacket allowing one to wear this piece with many of your other staples. Here are some of my favourite shacket looks:

I welcome any piece that is adaptable with effortless ease while remaining stylish and polished! Different styles, patterns, lengths, silhouettes, you can really opt for whatever style works with your wardrobe. The shacket is a solution for all, staying warm and comfortable while remaining on-trend and chic – what else do you need in a transition piece?!
