Plaid…what first comes to mind when plaid is mentioned? Some may think of the traditional kilt, others think “it’s old-fashioned and dated, “and for those of you who went, or have kids who go to school with uniforms,…plaid is most likely your first thought!
Still not convinced plaid is for you?! This pattern is easy to transition into your wardrobe making it work with just about anything – knee-high boots, flats, a stiletto heel, or sneakers. Add a light-weight autumn coat or bomber jacket for those cooler days and there you have the finished look.Plaid can always be incorporated in a versatile way, just like all patterns. It could be a subtle accessory and worn as a hairband, or as a bold plaid pant, paired with a neutral sweater (visit last week’s blog to see my sweater recommendations here). Feeling daring…an entire plaid look is a statement which translates confidence. The larger the plaid the more noticeable it will be. You can start with baby steps per se and go with a smaller plaid and work your way into the more statement looks.
Worn by fashion girls, influencers, celebrities and sported on the runway, plaid can be seen everywhere – a great way to get inspiration, bear in mind sometimes these looks aren’t meant for everyday wear. Here are some fun classic, and fabulous looks that can be worn by everyone!
